How do you get ready for a visit to the dentist? While major preparations aren’t necessary, there are a few things you may want to consider before you make your trip to your San Diego orthodontist. Consider the following things before your next trip.
Have you been flossing and brushing every day? You’ll have nothing to worry about on your trip to the dentist if you are taking care of your teeth. If you haven’t been keeping to a daily schedule of brushing and flossing at the very least you can brush and floss before your appointment. Flossing will make the teeth cleaning portion go much more smoothly.
Clear You Schedule
Depending on what happens during your dental appointment you may need a couple of hours to recuperate or abstain from food after your appointment. A surgery or a fluoride treatment may require that you don’t eat for at least an hour after the appointment ends. This means that you should cancel any plans you had for ice cream or brunch. On the bright side, next time you do eat; you’ll be doing so with a mouth that feels fresh and ready to munch.
Getting in the Right Mindset
Going to the dentist can be a scary affair. Rumors of evil dentists and painful dental instruments are enough to scare anybody away, no matter the age. Prepare yourself by first making sure your teeth are healthy. Understand that after this appointment is over you probably won’t be coming to the dentist for another six months or so. And lastly remember what it was like the last time you came to the dentist. Did you actually have a horrible time or was it all in your mind? Be sure to come to The Super Dentists early so that you can take your mind off the appointment by playing classic video games.
