Free Braces
In an effort to promote February as Children’s Dental Health Month, Dr. Hoss, awarded free orthodontic treatment to Jeromy Porter, a displaced orthodontic patient who relocated to San Diego as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

“Having been a patient at our office, Jeromy’s stepmom called me in distress,” explained Dr. Hoss. “She was upset that because of his situation in New Orleans, Jeromy had not received proper orthodontic care for some time. Now that he was living in California, she wanted to get him back on the right path. I was happy to do my part by awarding him free braces.”
When the hurricane swept through the Gulf Coast last August, it devastated the region’s dental care along with everything else. Jeromy was one of the many victims left without continuing orthodontic care for his braces. After being moved from city to city, Jeromy decided that it would be in his best interest to move to San Diego to live with his father, Dwayne Porter and stepmother, Donna.
“We had just paid for braces for Jeromy in 2004 and to know that we would have to pay for treatment again was a hardship for our family,” said Mrs. Porter. “But to be awarded with free braces for Jeromy was nothing but a true blessing for us - one that we never thought would happen. We thank The Super Dentists more than they will ever know.”
